Everyone is guessing. Publishers are guessing which apps to build. Brands aren’t sure how to monetize content. Mature companies are struggling to attract young consumers. And everyone is trying to stay relevant on social media where we find an ever-increasing sea of content combined with decreasing attention spans.

I come to work everyday because I am obsessively passionate about working with my clients to solve the biggest problems in marketing and business development.

As a serial entrepreneur and forward-thinking intrapreneur, I steward companies through each stage of development, from startup strategy and branding to business model development and product design to organizational change, innovation, rebranding, and market development.

My mission is to eliminate the guesswork, cut through the noise, and help close the loop between stakeholders.

As an adjunct professor of communication and former broadcast journalist, I also enjoy helping business leaders prepare for media appearances, keynote speeches, and deliver polished presentations in the boardroom. You can read a little more about me below.

About Jay Johnson

After twelve years in real estate, a decade as a broadcast journalist, seven years in corporate marketing, five years as a college instructor, and launching several start-ups, Jay has a wide range of experience building and engaging audiences.

Having developed campaigns and written stories for media organizations including NPR, USA TODAY, Sirius XM, The Indianapolis Star and others, he understands the correlation between powerful storytelling, consistent messaging, and success. In addition to broadcast and print media experience, he is a member of the adjunct faculty in the Department of Communications at The University of Indianapolis where he teaches announcing and voice acting.

Along with extensive communications experience, Jay has worked on multiple startups. Among those, his graduate thesis was presented to university leaders, which proposed a new academic-workforce partnership. A few months later, the idea and concept were validated after the university secured a $1 million grant from Eli Lilly to launch The Professional Edge Center at The University of Indianapolis.

As a Fortune 500 marketing strategist Jay was awarded for steering innovation, creating strategic partnerships and exceeding sales goals. Projects included leading cross-departmental innovation across three facilities and a partnership between IndyStar, Indiana Humanities, and 15 schools designed to increase media literacy.

Jay holds a Master's degree in Organizational Design & Strategic Leadership from The University of Indianapolis with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and certificates from Stanford University and The Wharton School of Business. His master's thesis was validated by a $1 million grant to the University of Indianapolis from the Eli Lilly & Company Endowment.

Jay is a recovering voice actor, ambidextrous vegan, and proud father who resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife and two dogs. When not working, he enjoys auditioning for voice acting roles, traveling, sampling new vegan recipes, and figuring out which side of his brain to use.
